Changing the Future

NebraskaEDGE is the umbrella organization for rural entrepreneurial training programs hosted by local communities, organizations and associations. Since 1993, the NebraskaEDGE has helped nearly 2,250 individuals, small business owners and their partners start and improve their businesses. Over 100 training courses have been held in urban and rural communities across Nebraska. Positive results of NebraskaEDGE programs can be observed all across the state.

After years of working as a fulltime artist and maintaining a small studio, Roots decided to take his passion to the next level and start a business—Modern Arts Midwest.

Area Artist "Paints with Glass":
Lori Wagner is the artist and owner of Nemaha Hill Stain Glass and co-owner with her husband Jed, of Nemaha Hill Farm. Lori, who got her B.A. in Illustration from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, found her niche applying her skills and talent of painting to stain glass as an alternate medium.

EDGE featured in Community Investments Magazine: The NebraskaEDGE program was recently featured in the article “Morphing Rural Community Development Models” in the spring edition of Community Investments Magazine.

According to John C. Allen, article author and Western Rural Development Center Director, the NebraskaEDGE entrepreneurial training program provided a model for a similar program in western-central states called the WesternEDGE.
